La Única Tropical, a Peruvian cumbia group founded on August 18, 1998, in Sechura, Piura, Peru, was led by Walter Chunga Antón. The group's inception began when Walter Chunga Antón, while studying Administration, sought to form a cumbia band with the support of his father, who acquired instruments for them. La Única Tropical debuted on August 21, 1998, in Sechura and released their first single "Siempre te amaré" and album Tu desdén in 1999. Their breakthrough came in 2012 when their music gained traction on Lima radio stations, notably with the hit "Se me ha perdido un corazón". The group's discography includes eight albums, such as El Futuro De La Cumbia (2015), Único y Desigual (2016), and La Orquesta de las Nuevas Generaciones (2016). Notable songs include "No te alejes de mí", "Te sigo queriendo", and covers like "Tattoo" and "Partido en dos". The group's name honors Milagros Chunga, the only daughter of their patron. La Única Tropical continued to release albums until 2024 with Partido en Dos, marking a significant milestone in their career.
