Erick Ibarra Miramontes, known professionally as Alan or Alan Ibarra, was born on June 28, 1972, in Mexico City. He began his career at age 10, participating in the television program Juguemos a Cantar (1983). In 1989, Alan joined the boy band Magneto, which signed with CBS Records. Alan was the lead vocalist on three of the album's promotional singles: "La Puerta del Colegio," "Para Siempre," and "Vuela, Vuela." In October 2009, Alan reunited with the original members of Magneto for the "Para Siempre" reunion tour, commemorating the band's 25th anniversary.
