Los Karkik’s are a Mexican tropical/cumbia costeña group from Guerrero’s Costa Grande region whose activity began officially in April 2002 with vocalist Juan Carlos Vicencio Ramírez (“Kike”) as the best-known public face. Their earliest releases include the live album En Vivo (2006), followed over the years by a catalog built around fast-paced, joke-forward coastal cumbia and double-entendre party songs; titles regularly associated with the group’s core repertoire include “Arremángala Arrempújala,” “El Puñetazo,” “Ya No Se Usa Peludo,” and “Bacalao con Papa.” In 2015 they issued the expanded set Los Reyes de la Cumbia Playera (Versión 2015), then continued with albums like Machucando Chile (2017) and Ya No Se Usa Peludo (2019). During the 2020 lockdown era, the band’s songs also circulated beyond the Spanish-speaking circuit via reaction content in the UK, with “Arremángala Arrenpújala” singled out as a viral pick. Their subsequent discography shows an active run of new albums and live-focused releases, including Le Quiero Meter el Dedo (2023), Fiesta Costeña En Vivo! (2023), Desde Casablanca (2024), Con Sabor a Acapulco (2024), and the collaborative marimba release Los Más Bailables de Los Karkik’s Con Marimba (Con Marimba) (2025).
