CHABA, a J-Pop group formed in 1996 at the Osaka University of Arts, consists of Ichirō Hirano, Daisuke Higa, and Shizuka Kaizuma, who collectively blend J‑pop with traditional Okinawan Sanshin sounds. The trio first entered the public eye with the single "パレード" (Parade) released on 22 February 2006, which later served as the twelfth ending theme for the anime Naruto and helped establish their signature fusion style. Following this breakthrough, CHABA signed with Ki / oon Records and released the album Atorie on 2 August 2006, featuring the track "パレード" and showcasing a mix of synth‑driven melodies and acoustic instrumentation. The group continued to tour Japan, supporting the Atorie release, and gained modest chart positions within the electronic and pop categories. In 2008, CHABA announced their disbandment on 7 April, concluding over a decade of activity that included collaborations with other J‑pop acts and appearances on television music programs. Although no post‑disband releases have charted, the group’s integration of traditional Okinawan elements into contemporary electronic music remains noted in academic discussions of genre hybridization in early 2000s Japanese pop.
