Dimensión Latina, a Venezuelan salsa orchestra founded in 1972, by Oscar D'León and Víctor Cuica, emerged from the Caracas music scene. The group's initial lineup included César Monges, José Antonio Rojas, José Rodríguez, Elio Pacheco, and Enrique Iriarte. Their debut performance took place at La Distinción in Caracas, featuring covers of Mon Rivera, Eddie Palmieri, and Willie Colón. In 1972, they released their first single, "Pensando en ti", as part of Víctor Mendoza's production for El Clan de Víctor. The following year saw the release of their self-titled album and Triunfadores, which included notable tracks like "Qué bailen Tós." The orchestra gained international recognition with hits such as "La Piragua" and "Llorarás". In 2017, Dimensión Latina received the certificate of Cultural and Musical Heritage of Venezuela.
