Messa

Messa is an Italian doom metal band that was founded in 2014 in Cittadella, Veneto. The founding members are singer Sara B. and guitarist/bassist Marco Zanin. They were later joined by guitarist Alberto Piccolo and drummer Rocco "Mistyr". The band combines traditional doom metal with influences from jazz, ambient, black metal and Mediterranean timbres. They themselves describe their style as "Scarlet Doom". Their debut album Belfry was released in 2016 via Aural Music and received international recognition for its unique sound. This was followed by Feast for Water in 2018, which was praised as a consistent development of their debut. In 2022, they released Close, which was recognized by critics as a significant contribution to doom metal. In April 2023, the live album Live at Roadburn was released, documenting their performance at the renowned Roadburn Festival. On April 11, 2025, their fourth studio album The Spin will be released via Metal Blade Records. The first single "At Races" has already been presented. Messa has played at major festivals such as Hellfest Open Air, Roadburn Festival and Desertfest and is known for her atmospheric live performances.
