Kira Willey

Kira Willey is an American songwriter and musician. She began playing the violin at age five and later taught herself guitar and mandolin as a teenager. In 2006, Willey released her debut album Dance for the Sun, which featured songs initially written for her daughter. The album won Independent Music Awards for Best Children's Album and Best Song for "Caterpillar Caterpillar," as well as a Parents' Choice Award for Best Children's Album. In 2011, she released Kings & Queens of the Forest, followed by How to Be a Cloud in 2014. Willey's music has been featured in advertisements and on Sirius XM Radio. She also authored children’s mindfulness books, including Breathe Like a Bear, which has been translated into eleven languages.
