Established in 2010 by Baykal Ada (Guitar/Lead Vocal), Cihan Deniz (Bass) and Hikmet Altınyıldız (Drums/Back Vocal), Sapan is expressing melancholy and hope together through their music. The band has an indie-like sound and they are making songs in Turkish, English and French. Tahsin Güngör Aktürk joins them on stage, playing the guitar during live performances.
Sapan has performed at some of the most important live music venues in Istanbul, at Efes Pilsen One Love Festival 10 & 11, Rock'n Coke Festival 2013 and several university festivals. The band released their first EP “Gökyüzünde Yeryüzü” in 2012 with an EP launch concert at Bronx Pi Stage.
Sapan has won first place and also Miller Jet Tour which is the jury’s special award at the Miller Music Factory competition and second place at 2nd edition of the Be The Band Music competition.
Lately they have released their second EP 'Tundra' and now are focusing on their first professional album.
