Carol Hodge

Born in Cumbria on March 11, 1982, Carol Hodge was a teenager on the punk scene, meeting Stephen Williams aka Steve Ignorant, lead singer of veteran band Crass, founded in 1977. Trained as a pianist, she formed the band Slice of Life with him and Pete Wilson, where she appears under the pseudonym Crystal Grenade. The band, born in 2011, produced two albums, Love and Lamp-Post (2014) and Don't Turn Away (2019). Based in Manchester, the musician meanwhile embarked on a solo career with the album Hold On to That Flame (2018), followed by a signing with independent label Midnight Stamp Records for the following Savage Purge (2020), The Crippling Space Between (2021), Vertiginous Drops (2023) and Effortless Insecurity (2024).
