Gathering some of Marseille’s sharpest MCs, 13 Organisé is a French hip-hop collective that celebrates the Mediterranean city’s vibrant rap scene by connecting two generations of rhyme spitters. Conceived by French MC Jul, the project’s overwhelming lineup consists of 50 rappers including newcomers Alonzo, Kofs, L’Algérino, Naps, SCH, Soprano, and Soso Maness, plus legendary groups like Fonky Family, IAM, and Ghetto Phénomène. Preceded by the single “Bande organisée,” which broke all records by becoming the fastest single to ever obtain diamond certification in French music history, the group’s eponymous 13-track debut was released in October 2020. It quickly achieved gold status only two weeks after its release, topping the SNEP New Albums chart and selling over 36,000 copies. “L'étoile sur le maillot,” featuring As, Le Rat Luciano, Stone Black, and Veazy, became the second single off the album to reach the Top Singles chart, peaking at Number 3 and spawning an accompanying video that amassed over 8 million views on video streaming platforms in just a few days.
