B.I is the pseudonym of South Korean rapper and songwriter Kim Han-bin (October 22, 1996) who rose to fame as the leader of boy band iKon in the mid 2010s. Born in the Gyeonggi province, he landed his first feature in 2009 on MC Mong’s “Indian Boy” and then became a trainee under YG Entertainment in 2011, participating on the survival reality shows WIN: Who Is Next (2013), Show Me the Money 3 (2014), and Mix & Match (2014). The latter spawned the boy group iKon, who made their official debut in 2015 with the album Welcome Back. He then went on to collaborate with Psy on the singer’s 2017 single “Bomb” and made an appearance on Lee Hi’s single “No One” in 2019. In 2021, B.I officially launched his solo career with the album Midnight Blue (Love Streaming), which peaked at Number 14 on the Gaon Charts and whose proceeds were donated to support children in need through the religious nonprofit organization World Vision.
