Biyografi

In a remarkably short period of time, West Yorkshire indie outfit Working Men’s Club has evolved considerably since its first incarnation. Founded by singer and guitarist Syd Minsky-Sargeant, drummer Jake Bogacki, and guitarist Guilia Bonometti in 2018, the Todmorden group debuted the following year with the uptempo, guitar-led two-tracker “Bad Blood” / “Suburban Heights,” combining post-punk sensibilities with jangling guitars to create a sound leaning into contemporary British indie rock trends which landed them a deal with renowned independent labels Heavenly Recordings and Play It Again Sam. Just months later, however, the emergent group would entirely reinvent itself, with frontman Syd finding himself increasingly enamoured by a four-to-the-floor indie dance sound and both his bandmates departing due to creative differences. After inviting Drenge and Wet Nuns member Rob Graham, bassist Liam Ogburn, and guitarist, keyboardist, and vocalist Mairead O’Connor on board, the band returned with its second release, the techno-leaning single “Teeth.” The track would go on to serve as the lead single from their self-titled debut album, which landed in October 2020 and debuted on the UK Albums Chart at Number 26 and the UK Indie Chart at Number 4. Following the release of the non-album singles "X" and "Y" in 2021, their sophomore effort Fear Fear (2022) peaked at Number 11 on the UK charts.
