The Fearless Flyers

The Fearless Flyers is a jazz / funk side project formed in 2018 by founding Vulfpeck bassist Joe Dart alongside touring Vulfpeck guitarist Cory Wong, drummer Nate Smith, and Snarky Puppy guitarist Mark Lettieri. Joe Dart’s main band, Vulfpeck, formed in 2011 and had already established themselves as one of the premiere funk bands in the US. He formed The Fearless Flyers, who released their self-titled debut EP in 2018. The six song EP featured musical assistance from Blake Mills, Sandra Crouch, and Elizabeth Lea. The quartet’s second EP, The Fearless Flyers II, was released in 2019 and included guest appearances by Joey Dosik and Chris Thile. Joined by a spirited horn section, The Fearless Flyers released their acclaimed debut album, Tailwinds, in 2020. Their next album, Flyers Live at Madison Square Garden (2021), was recorded at the legendary New York venue when they opened for Vulfpeck in 2019. The quartet followed that up with The Fearless Flyers III EP (2022) and The Fearless Flyers IV EP (2024).
