Born October 1, 1982 in Ranoke, Virginia, Ross Copperman is a Grammy-nominated country singer, songwriter, and producer. He released a series of albums on his own, but he is best-known as a songwriter. Copperman has co-written or produced over 30 Number 1 radio hits for a variety of country artists including Luke Bryan, Brett Eldredge, Florida Georgia Line, Keith Urban, Darius Rucker, Dierks Bentley, Kenny Chesney, Billy Currington and many others. Copperman’s musical career began when he started composing songs while attending James Madison University. His first independent album, Believe, was released in 2003. He then moved England and signed with Sony Records. His next album, Welcome to Reality, was released in 2007. The album included the hit singles “As I Choke” and “All She Wrote”. He issued the This Is Ross Copperman EP in 2009. Copperman then moved back to the U.S., settling in Nashville, Tennessee and focusing on his songwriting and production skills. While he continued to release solo albums – Holding On and Letting Go (2012) and Lighthouse Shine EP (2013) – he focused more on his songwriting skills. Copperman is the recipient of many awards including several from Country Music Association (CMA), BMI, and others. He has been nominated for two Grammys. In 2019, he released the single “All We Have Is Now”, which garnered a lot of attention when it was featured in an episode of the U.S. television series Grey’s Anatomy.
