An American electronic duo with broad, genre-crossing appeal, The Crystal Method was formed in Las Vegas, Nevada, in 1993. Co-founders Ken Jordan and Scott Kirkland moved to Los Angeles during the group's infancy and began working as producers, taking particular influenced from the city's club culture and thriving rave scene. They started releasing their own material, too, debuting with 1994's "Now Is the Time" and scoring a genuine hit with their second single, "Keep Hope Alive," in 1996. The song climbed to Number 14 on the Dance Club Songs in America and appeared on The Crystal Method's platinum-certified debut album, Vegas, in 1997. Also featuring the chart-topping dance hit "Comin' Back," Vegas helped popularize the sub-genre of big beat and established The Crystal Method as one of the decade's biggest names in dance music. Tweekend was released in 2001 and climbed to Number 1 on Billboard's Top Electronic Albums chart, sending the track "Name of the Game" to Number 5 on Dance Club Songs. In demonstration of the group's diverse appeal, the album featured guests from multiple genres, including Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello and Stone Temple Pilots vocalist Scott Weiland. The Crystal Method remained at the top o the electronic charts with 2004's Grammy-nominated Legion of Bloom, which featured the Number 3 hit "Born Too Slow," then hit Number 2 with 2009's Divided by Night. Released in 2014, the self-titled The Crystal Method marked Ken Jordan's final full-length release with the duo, with Scott Kirkland rebranding the group as a solo project following Jordan's retirement in 2017. This new incarnation of The Crystal Method debuted with 2018's The Trip Home.
