Brian Tyler is a prolific American composer known for orchestral scores for films, television series and video games. Born in Southern California, he studied at UCLA and Harvard and learned to play many musical instruments. Encouraged by Robert Kraft, then head of music at 20th Century Fox, he began writing for the screen starting with Gabe Torres's 'Bartender' (1997). He composed the music for the Fox television series 'Living in Captivity' in 1998 and then was employed steadily on TV movies and series such as 'Level 9' (2000) and 'The Education of Max Bickford' (2001). He went on to write scores for several action pictures including 'Aliens Vs. Predator: Requiem' (2008), 'Rambo' (2008), 'Fast & Furious' (2009), 'Battle: Los Angeles' (2011), 'Iron Man 3' (2013), 'Thor: The Dark World' (2013), 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' (2014), 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' (2105) and editions of franchises including 'Final Destination', 'The Expendables' and 'Fast & Furious'.
His television credits include 'Terra Nova', 'Transformers Prime', 'Sleepy Hollow', 'Scorpion', 'Yellowstone' and the long-running 'Hawaii Five-O' and he has written music for television coverage of Formula One racing. Video game scores include 'Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3' (2011), 'Need for Speed: The Run' (2011) and editions of 'Assassin's Creed'. He scored the international hit 'Crazy Rich Asians' in 2018 and his 2019 titles include 'Escape Room', 'What Men Want' and 'Five Feet Apart'. He records under the name Madsonik and has conducted concerts featuring his scores at venues in England, Belgium and Poland.
