Founded in 1991, Deep Blue Something is an American rock band from Denton, Texas, U.S.A, formed by brothers Todd and Toby Pipes (bass/vocals), John Kirtland (drums) and Clay Bergus (guitar) who was replaced by Kirk Tatom in 1994, after the band’s independent debut album, 11th Song. However it was their second album Home which propelled the band into stardom via the band’s 1995 track “Breakfast at Tiffanys” which topped the charts worldwide, including the United States, Australia, Europe and the U.K where it achieved double platinum status. Shortly after the band's success, Bergus assumed his original role as guitarist, with the group planning the release of their third album Byzantium in 1996, which was sidelined by their label while lawsuits were settled over ownership of the smash hit. After the album was released solely in Japan in 1998, the band parted ways with the label, releasing their self-titled album in 2001, after which the group disbanded to work on solo projects. After an extended hiatus, the group reunited in 2014, releasing digital EP Locust House in June, 2015 as well as several non-album singles between 2020 and 2022 including “Hide”, “Don’t Stop” and “Cherry Lime Rickey”.
