Part of a new generation of alternative acts to emerge in the 2010s, Sleeping With Sirens combined metal thrash and punk nihilism with pop hooks and emo passion to build a loyal fan base that propelled them into the US charts.
Front man Kellin Quinn started writing songs as a teenager after his parents divorced, recording two albums with acoustic outfit Closer to Closure before making a set of demo tapes while living in Florida and persuading previous musical acquaintances Gabe Barham and Justin Hills to move down from Michigan to form a band in 2009. With an admirable work ethic and a natural ability to hustle, they quickly landed a deal with Rise Records and released their debut album 'With Ears to Hear and Eyes to See' before local guitarists Jack Fowler and Jesse Lawson joined later to complete the line-up.
Non-stop gigs across the country helped them impress punk and metal crowds, but they also regularly played acoustic shows and filled their songs with raw emotion as they released second album 'Let's Cheers to This' and supported post-hardcore favourites Alesana and A Skylit Drive on tour. With their place as underground rock heroes well established, their third album 'Feel' featured guest appearances from rapper Machine Gun Kelly and metalcore vocalists Chris Fronzak from Attila and Matty Mullins from Memphis May Fire, taking them to a new level when it reached number three in the US charts.
Former D.R.U.G.S. guitarist Nick Martin replaced Lawson, but Quinn's soaring vocals and knowing charisma remained intact as they grew into an epic, glossy, headlining rock band on 'Madness' in 2015. Quinn also collaborated on tracks with One OK Rock, Avion Roe and Good Charlotte and the band released acoustic record 'Live and Unplugged' before signing with Warner Bros. for their slick, pop-rock album 'Gossip' in 2017 and the single 'Legends' which became the official anthem of the US Winter Olympics team.
