The Temperance Movement are a rare entity in 2018. A homegrown British talent with a career built upon a solid foundation of doing-it-right. Hitting the road, touring, and releasing expertly crafted albums in between.
Their story began proper in 2012 with the self-release of their debut EP ‘Pride’. This was followed by their debut full-length – the self-titled ‘The Temperance Movement’. 2016’s ‘White Bear’ came next and in 2018 the band scored their highest ever chart position when ‘A Deeper Cut’ landed in the UK Top 10 at position 6.
‘A Deeper Cut’ is itself simultaneously anthemic, defiant and cathartic. It bears echoes of the great rock ‘n’ roll icons of the ’60s and ’70s – The Faces and Led Zeppelin, Free and The Rolling Stones (whose singer, Mick Jagger, gave them the ultimate accolade when he handpicked The Temperance Movement to support the Stones in Europe in 2014 and in the US in 2015).
