Armel Dupas (b.1984) is a multifaceted musician. A composer, Paris Conservatoire Graduate, a pianist appreciated for his melodies and the softness of his touch, he is also a link between artistic creation and spirituality.
Drawn to jazz and improvisation at a very early age, he very quickly made a name for himself in the French jazzosphere following brilliant studies at the Paris Conservatory (CNSMDP). An affinity with artistic diversity led him to accumulate a decade’s worth of experiences touring, performing and writing music for the cinema and the theatre. We can cite his collaborations with Henri Texier, Sandra Nkaké, David Linx, Pierrick Pédron, Catherine Ringer, Nolwenn Leroy....
To accompany his fortieth birthday, in 2024 he is launching a new project called "Open Borders". This repertoire, born from the encounter with the pearly sound of a new acoustic piano named Keybird, created in Denmark, will take Armel along the roads of Europe on an epic journey of 4 months and 14 countries. Open Borders is the meeting point of jazz and neo-classical music, the melodies and the authenticity of the artist on stage are an invitation for us to close our eyes and listen to our soul.
As a solo artist and a member of Armel Dupas Trio, Armel Dupas is one of the most streamed jazz musicians from France on Spotify.
