Biyografi

Julieta Venegas is one of the most popular singer-songwriters in the history of Mexican pop music. She was born Julieta Venegas Percevault on November 24, 1970, in Long Beach, California. She relocated at an early age to Tijuana, Mexico, and began exploring her interest in music by age 8. In her teen years, she joined several bands in Tijuana and Mexico City, before recording her first solo album with producer Gustavo Santaolalla. That album was Aquí (1997), and it combined elements of various Latin American rhythms with American-inspired indie and rock music. The album catapulted her to fame, and she quickly started collaborating with other artists such as Enanitos Verdes, Enrique Bunbury, and Los Fabulosos Cadillacs. This was followed by albums Bueninvento (2000) and (2003), both of which increased her stature in the Latin American music scene. In 2004, Julieta Venegas was awarded three MTV Latino Video Music Awards: Artist of the Year, Solo of the Year, and Best Artist North. In 2006, she released Limón y Sal, one of her most commercially successful albums. Driven by the hit single "Eres Para Mí," Limón y Sal earned the Grammy for Best Latin Pop Album in 2007. This was followed by an MTV Unplugged session, the first to be recorded in Mexico. Over the next several years, Julieta Venegas released albums such as Otra Cosa (2010), Los Momentos (2013), Algo Sucede (2015), and La Enamorada (2019). Entirely written and recorded during the COVID-19 pandemic with Chilean singer-songwriter, her eighth full-length outing Tu Historia arrived in 2022 and went on to win Best Pop Vocal Album at the 2023 Latin Grammy Awards.
