Biyografi

Peter Cetera is best known for being an original member of the American rock band Chicago, penning one of their biggest hits, 'If You Leave Me Now'. His love of music began at an early age when his parents bought him an accordion. He progressed to guitar and bass and also discovered that he loved to sing. He played with several local bands and began making money doing what he loved.

In 1967 he joined a band called The Big Thing. He was drawn to their sound by their use of the horn section and found himself inspired to write for them. They changed their name to Chicago and released their debut album 'The Chicago Transit Authority'. The self-titled follow-up contained the number seven hit single '25 Or 6 to 4' on which Cetera took lead vocals. Cetera recorded with Chicago on a further 16 albums and penned some of their biggest hits including 'If You Leave Me Now' and 'You're the Inspiration'. In 1985 Cetera decided that he had made a big enough name for himself within the band that he could now try his hand at solo work. His debut solo single, 'The Glory of Love', rocketed him up the charts after it was chosen as the theme song to 'The Karate Kid Part II'. The song reached number one on the Billboard 100 and cemented Cetera's place as a bona fide solo artist. Further solo albums followed including 'One More Story' (1988), 'World Falling Down' (1992), 'One Clear Voice' (1995), 'Another Perfect World' (2001) and the greatest hits compilation 'The Very Best of Peter Cetera' which was released in 2017.
