Emily Burns, born 22 September 1994 in Livingston, West Lothian, Scotland, is a British singer‑songwriter who began her musical journey in Rugby, Warwickshire. Burns entered the Live and Unsigned competition in 2010, reaching the final and performing at the indigO2, after which she was signed by Rob Cass to Cave Productions and released the single "Plasters, Glitter and Glue". She worked at Abbey Road Studios in 2014, meeting producer Sound Of Fractures who produced her first major single "Take It Or Leave It" in November 2016. Burns signed to 37 Adventures in July 2017, releasing "Bitch" (January 2018) and "Girlfriend At The Time" (March 2018) before launching her debut mini‑album Seven Scenes from the Same Summer on 25 July 2018. She followed with the EPs PDA (19 June 2019) and My Town (20 November 2019), the latter after signing to Island Records. In 2020 she issued the single "Press Pause" and the EP I Love You, You're The Worst (24 July 2020). A 2021 remix of "Is It Just Me?" with JP Cooper and the single "I'm So Happy" marked her continued output. Burns left Island Records and signed with SO Recordings/Silva Screen, releasing "Balcony Floor" (27 September 2023), "Cheating On Her" (22 November 2023), "8 Hours Behind" (23 May 2024), "Give and Take" (3 July 2024), and "Are You Waiting?" (3 October 2024) before her debut studio album Die Happy was released on 8 November 2024.
