Listening to Oordaya feels like being drawn into a private universe. Clara is from the South of France and became passionate about music at a young age. Her early inspirations were the biggest artists of the ‘00s - Rihanna and Adèle - until she discovered Jorja Smith and started to become serious about music. ‘The first time I heard “Blue Lights” by Jorja Smith, it was like a revelation for me.’ At the time at only 17 years old, Oordaya had just returned to France after seven years living between Jordan and Botswana with her family.
In 2019, she flew off to London for her first studio session and was noticed by Sofar Sounds Toulouse. Soon after, she released Three, her second EP, featuring ‘Yayo’, which is her most-streamed song to this day.
At just 20 years old, Oordaya is now signed with Epic Records and is preparing her upcoming EP, Twenty, with Love. The five-song project, produced by Twinsmatic, reads like a letter written to herself. Authentically, Oordaya sings about regret (‘Jamil’), heartbreak (‘Losing Focus’) and emotional crisis (‘You Got This, Baby) — all while keeping her optimism for the future (‘Better Days’). Shifting between darkness and light, Twenty, with Love solidifies her signature sound. ‘I’m not afraid to show my weaknesses and express both my joy and my sadness,’ she explains. Her music is an ode to authenticity and self-acceptance, which makes Oordaya one of the most promising rising talents in France.
