An R&B soul singer who's sung with Sisqo, Wyclef Jean and Lil Wayne, Mya's velvet vocals and urban sass has led to record sales of over seven million and a string of US hits. Signed up by Interscope Records when she was just 16, the Washington-raised singer released her debut album Mya (1998) two years later and produced the US Top 10 single It's All About Me. Worldwide recognition came when she appeared with Pras and Ol Dirty Bastard on the hit Ghetto Supastar and with Christina Aguilera, Pink and Lil Kim on the global chart topper Lady Marmalade, while third album Moodring (2003) reached Number 3 in the US. Other big solo hits included Take Me There, Case Of The Ex and My Love Is Like.Wo. Her fame waned in the mid-2000s but her popularity revived when she finished second on the TV show Dancing With The Stars in 2009. After that success she developed a more pop oriented sound aimed at the Japanese market, and released her sixth studio album K.I.S.S. (Keep It Sexy and Simple) in 2011 through her own independent label Planet 9.
