Franck Joseph Vincent, born in Pointe-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe, on April 18, 1956, is best known for his zouk repertoire with a saucy edge. Born into a modest family, he gave up his studies to work, playing percussion in a compas group called Tabou N° 2, which he joined as lead singer in 1978, after completing his military service in French Guiana. In 1980, Francky Vincent decided to go it alone and record his own songs, making a name for himself in the French West Indian community with his naughty lyrics, even if it meant being banned from the radio airwaves. Several albums, including Doc' Porno (1983), Le Lolo (1987) and Manze Lola (1988), were released before the compilation 15 Ans Déjà... (Putain!) (1989). Her fame soared in 1991 with the album Alice Ça Glisse ! and its title track. A stint at the Olympia in Paris led to a move to the capital the following year, where, signed to the Arcade Music label, he scored his biggest hits with the compilation Fruit de la Passion (No. 17 in the Top Albums chart in 1994), which included the song of the same name - subtitled "Vas-y Francky c'est bon", a summer hit that has become a classic - and "Le Tourment d'amour". Now well known to the general public thanks to his appearances on variety shows, Francky Vincent's career is expanding abroad. In 1996, the album Le Tombeur (No. 40) was certified gold, while the following albums, À la Folie (1999), Réchauffe l'Hiver (2001) and Ça Va Chauffer (2004), failed to chart. The singer returned to the public eye in 2009 with "Tu veux mon zizi", which reached No. 6 before the release of the double compilation Mon Fest' Of. His participation in the reality TV show La Ferme Célébrités in Africa in 2010 was followed by the release of "Moi j'aime scier" (#19), an adaptation of the Village People disco hit "YMCA", and the covers album Couleur Francky (2014) was followed by his autobiography, Ma fesse cachée (2015). He returned in 2018 with a new album of covers, this time performed as a duet with Ève Angeli, Le Binôme du Siècle. In 2021, Francky Vincent teamed up with rapper Alkpote for the track "Éteins la lumière".
