Biyografi

Originally formed in Boston as a "free jazz country rock band", Lake Street Dive gradually evolved into their own highly individual DIY/garage approach, incorporating an enticing mix of different styles, from jazz to classic rock, with The Beatles and Fleetwood Mac numbered among their primary influences.

Rachael Price, Bridget Kearney, Mike Olson and Mike Calabrese first met at Boston's New England Conservatory, quickly discovering a mutual love of fresh pop and an ability to pen irresistible hooks and their initial plan to play free country was swiftly abandoned for what Olson wryly described as "something that actually sounded good". Their focal point from the start was jazz-influenced singer Rachael Price - Australian-born but raised in Tennessee - who grew up listening to the classic jazz singers, cut her teeth singing with the Voices of Baha Choir and recorded her first album at the age of 17.

Encouraged by winning a John Lennon Songwriting Contest Award with a song penned by Kearney in 2005, Lake Street Dive independently released their first two albums 'In This Episode' and 'Promises Promises' in 2007 and 2008 and their versatility and easygoing approach ensured they were as comfortable performing at summer festivals as at restaurants and late night clubs. Their popularity grew following their signing to Signature Records, particularly through the EP 'Fun Machine', which included enlightened covers of Jackson 5's 'I Want You Back' and Hall & Oates' 'Rich Girl'. Their rise continued with the release of 'Bad Self Portraits' (2014) and 'Side Pony' (2016) which found them producing a more streamlined sound recorded in Nashville with nods to southern rock and old-school R&B.
