Biyografi

Now hailed as a supergroup thanks to the individual successes of its members, Atlanta hip-hop and R&B collective Spillage Village originated from humble roots. Coming into existence in 2010 as the brainchild of rap duo EARTHGANG, the crew initially consisted of just the two emcees and fellow Georgia native JID, with siblings Hollywood JB and Jurdan Bryant entering the fold shortly afterward. In 2014, the group released their debut collaborative EP, Bears Like This, which featured a rotating cast of members on each track. Later that year, they welcomed singer/rappers Mereba and 6LACK into the mix, going on to release a sequel project, Bears Like This Too, in 2015. The group’s breakthrough came with a 2016 collaboration between DJ Khaled, J. Cole, Hollywood JB and EARTHGANG entitled “Jermaine’s Interlude”, which marked the beginning of a fruitful business relationship with Cole and which was later repurposed as a Spillage Village track entitled “Can’t Call It”. After releasing a star-studded third Spillage Village EP, Bears Like This Too Much (2016), both JID and EARTHGANG signed to Cole’s Dreamville Records, a subsidiary of Universal/Interscope. Meanwhile, 6LACK had bagged his own deal with Interscope ahead of his Billboard 200-charting debut album Free 6LACK, and Mereba would go on to sign with them the following year. Amidst prolific solo careers, the group reconvened in 2020, joined by new member Benji. Their first full-length collaborative LP, Spilligion, entered the Billboard 200 at number 141.
