Biyografi

Agnes Emilia Carlsson (March 6, 1988), or simply Agnes, is a Swedish pop singer who jumped into the public eye after winning the second season of reality music competition Swedish Idol. Born in the city of Vänesborg, she took violin lessons from a very young age and then went on to sing in several choirs before auditioning for Swedish Idol in 2005. She was crowned winner of the show after defeating Sebastian Karlsson in the grand finale, immediately landing a recording contract with Sony BMG. Her debut single “Right Here Right Now (My Heart Belongs to You)” (2005) shot straight to the top of the Swedish charts and paved the way for the arrival of her eponymous studio debut, which also reached Number 1 on the Sverigetopplistan later that year. The album was certified platinum in its first week of release and cemented Agnes’ status as a bona fide pop star in her native Sweden. Follow-up album Stronger (2006) achieved pole position on the domestic charts, and both Dance Love Pop (2008) and Veritas (2012) managed to crack the Swedish Top 5, also charting in several European countries. After a seven-year hiatus from the music industry, Agnes returned in 2019 through a feature on the Avicii posthumous track “Tough Love,” which went to Number 2 in Sweden. That year, she also issued the EP Nothing Can Compare through her own Senga label. Preceded by the singles “Goodlife” and “Fingers Crossed,” her fifth full-length Magic Still Exists saw the light in 2021. “Here Comes the Night,” the album’s fourth single, entered the Swedish Singles Chart at Number 84.
