Radio Killer

Romanian Euro-pop sensations Radio Killer have dominated the charts in their home country with their brand of glitzy, party starting, electro-sing-alongs, steadily building a fanbase that stretches across Austria, Ukraine and Russia.

Front man Andrei Tiberiu Maria aka Smiley started singing at the age of three and originally made his name with boyband Simplu with whom he released five albums in addition to appearing in TV series 'One Step Ahead' and comedy documentary 'Un Film Simplu'. He formed Radio Killer in 2009 with DJ-producers Paul Damixie, Cell Block and Boogie Man Don Baxter and singers Alex Velea, Karie, Lee Heart. The seven-piece band released a series of floor-filling, summer dance anthems that began working their way into Europe's clubs and radio stations.

Their debut single 'Voila' started the group off, but follow-up tracks 'Be Free', 'Lonely Heart' and 'Don't Let the Music End' all had origins in the trance genre, marking a golden period for Romanian dance music alongside popular acts such as Edward Maya and Inna. Smiley went on to host TV talent show 'Romania's Got Talent' and became a judge on 'The Voice', but the group returned in 2012 with singles 'Calling You' and 'Is It Love Out There', which was chosen as the theme song of Romania's street party The Liberty Parade.
