Puma Blue is the pseudonym of singer, composer, multi-instrumentalist and producer Jacob Allen, born in London on January 24, 1995. Initially recognized on the South London music scene for his falsetto voice and dark, lo-fi textures, Puma Blue's music is renowned for its blend of sensuality and haunting nocturnal ambience. After an initial success on stage followed by a few demos, he attracted attention with his EPs Swum Baby (2017) and Blood Loss (2018). His debut album with accents of alternative R&B, bedroom pop, neo-soul and downtempo electro, In Praise of Shadows, was released in 2021, followed by the filmed concert A Late Night Special. Released in 2023, his second album Holy Waters, with its very dark content, was hailed by the critics. Puma Blue followed up with the diptych Antichamber / Extchamber, two albums released in 2025 a few weeks apart, in introspective folk / ambient moods for the first and more experimental / electro-acoustic with use of drone and natural sounds for the second. In 2026, he released the album Croak Room, recorded at Real World Studios. Blending the intimacy of his recordings with the spontaneous energy of his band, he brings together tracks with krautrock, trip-hop and jungle influences in a lo-fi spirit.
