Christopher Bryce Murphy, born on March 25, 1976, in Perth, Australia, is a singer-songwriter known for his contributions to pop rock and rock music. He began playing piano at age 11 and later added guitar to his repertoire, forming the band 'Murphy's Lore' at 16. The group released three independent albums: People in Grass Houses (1995), Best Laid Plans (1999), and The Universe Conspires (2002). Murphy gained national attention as a contestant on Australian Idol in 2006, where his performance of "Evie Part One" received critical acclaim. Following the show, he released several solo albums including Elbow Room (2005), Chris Murphy (2007), and Ghost Town (2016). He also collaborated with his brothers Kieran and Courtney as The Murphy Brothers, releasing Thick As Thieves in 2013.
