Mariel Buckley, born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, is a country music singer-songwriter. She began her musical journey by recording an EP in 2012 and releasing her debut album Motorhome in 2014, which featured mainly acoustic music. In 2018, Buckley released her second album, the alt-country Driving in the Dark, produced by Leeroy Stagger. The album peaked at number 2 on the !earshot National Folk/Roots/Blues Chart. Buckley performed at the Vancouver Folk Music Festival that same year. In December 2022, Buckley collaborated with her brother T. Buckley on a cover of The Tragically Hip's "Bobcaygeon."
