Sylosis

Sylosis is a British heavy metal band from Reading, formed in 2000 by guitarist Josh Middleton and bassist Carl Parnell. The group began playing extreme metal with school friends and released its first EPs, Casting Shadows (2006) and The Supreme Oppressor (2007). Sylosis signed with Nuclear Blast Records in 2007 and released their debut album, Conclusion of an Age (2008). The band performed at the Download Festival and Sonisphere Festival in 2009 before Middleton assumed lead vocal duties in 2010. Their subsequent studio albums include Edge of the Earth (2011), Monolith (2012), and Dormant Heart (2015). Following a hiatus between 2016 and 2019, the band returned with the album Cycle of Suffering (2020). Sylosis released their sixth album, A Sign of Things to Come (2023), followed by The New Flesh (2026).
