Pandora is a Mexican pop group formed in 1985 by María Fernanda Meade del Valle and sisters María Isabel and María Teresa Lascuráin Arrigunaga. The group initially featured Fernanda Meade, who was later replaced by Liliana Abaroa from 1989 to 1996. Pandora's music spans pop ballads, Latin pop, and traditional Mexican music. Their career began in the 1980s, gaining fame with their debut single "¿Cómo te va mi amor?" written by Hernaldo Zúñiga. This song became their signature hit and earned them a Grammy nomination in 1987. Their first album, Pandora, was released in 1985, featuring hits like "Tarde o temprano" and "De mil maneras." In 1986, they released Otra Vez, followed by Huellas in 1987, which included the popular tracks "Mi hombre" and "Cinco minutos de amor." After Fernanda Meade's departure in 1989, Liliana Abaroa joined the group, and they released 999 Razones that same year. In 1991, they paid tribute to Juan Gabriel with the album ... Con Amor Eterno. The 1992 album Ilegal included their hit "Desde el día que te fuiste," reaching number 1 on the Billboard Hot Latin Tracks. Fernanda Meade returned in 1996, and in 1997 they released Hace Tres Noches Apenas, their only ranchero album, which included the popular theme song "La usurpadora" for the Televisa telenovela of the same name. Pandora continued to release successful albums, including Pandora: de Plata in 2010, celebrating their 25th anniversary. Their 2019 album Más Pandora Que Nunca featured covers of popular songs from the last two decades. In 2021, they collaborated with Flans for the Inesperado Tour, a joint concert tour that took them to several cities throughout Mexico and the rest of Latin America. The tour was documented on the live LP Inesperado Tour, released in 2022.
