Benedetta Caretta, born 1 July 1996 in Carmignano di Brenta, Veneto, Italy, is an Italian singer whose early vocal training began at age five in the choir Gioventù in Cantata. She entered the public eye in 2010 as a contestant on the television show Io canto, reaching the finals and winning the second season the same year, which enabled her to study at the New York Film Academy. Her first single, "Counting Down The Days", was released in 2012. Caretta returned to Io canto as a special guest in subsequent seasons and appeared on The Voice of Italy in 2014 as a member of Raffaella Carrà’s team, where she was eliminated in the final round. In 2018 she released the single "Stronzo", followed by "Girl from the North Country" in 2019. Her debut studio album, Benedetta, was issued on 24 December 2021, and a single, "Only Love Can Hurt Like This", followed on 19 January 2024. Caretta has collaborated with Croatian cellist Stjepan Hauser of 2Cellos and participated as a judge on All Together Now in 2019 and 2020. Her work has contributed to the contemporary Italian pop landscape, with chart placements in national singles and a growing presence on streaming platforms.
