Born in St. Andrew in 1946 (or 1947), Barry Biggs is a Jamaican reggae singer known for his romantic pop style. He began his career as a sound engineer and cameraman for the Jamaican Broadcasting Company before devoting himself to music. He worked as a backing vocalist at Duke Reid's Treasure Isle studio and took part in the bands The Crystalites and The Astronauts, before becoming lead singer of Byron Lee's Dragonaires. While working at Dynamic Studios, he scored his first hit in 1971 with a cover of "One Bad Apple" (Osmonds), followed by further international successes starting with "Work All Day" in 1976, including his version of Blue Magic's "Sideshow", which reached No. 3 in the UK, and also "You're My Life" on the Mr. Biggs album and "Three Ring Circus" the same year on Sincerely (1977). Her status as a lovers rock star was maintained with the albums What's Your Sign? (1980) and Coming Down with Love (1983), and resulted in numerous compilations. Back in 2000 with Love Come Down and again in 2021 with I've Got It Covered, Barry Biggs continues to perform live.
