Maureen

Real name Maureen Lucea, Maureen is a singer from Fort-de-France, Martinique (France). Born and raised in the Dillon district, she is today considered the figurehead of shatta, a Caribbean musical movement that fuses Jamaican dancehall, trap, zouk and R&B influences. She made a name for herself in the late 2010s with sultry, hard-hitting tracks such as "Tic" (2020), "Auto" (2023) and "Bad Queen", taken from the EP of the same name released in 2024. In 2025, she released her first studio album, Queen, on Because Music. Blending shatta and dancehall rhythms with more pop and R&B sounds, while remaining true to her Martinican accent and Creole roots, Queen invites artists such as Walshy Fire, Konshens, DJ Glad, Maroon Riddimz, Mafio House, Yemi Alade, JD&JDS, Jungeli and Shaz.
