Jamal

Jamal is a German rapper from Ludwigshafen am Rhein and a member of the rap crew HoodBlaq. The group was founded in 2021 in the migrant-influenced Hemshof district and consists of six masked members: Mali, Veysel, Safraoui, Moussa, Alim and Jamal. Their music combines German street rap with influences from UK drill, French rap and Arabic sounds. HoodBlaq became known through their anonymous performances and the publication of numbered snippets on Instagram from July 2021. They have been signed to the Sony Music label Columbia Germany since 2022. Their first studio album, Haragá, was released in 2023 and contains features with artists such as Kurdo and Bonez MC. The album reached number 36 in the German charts. In September 2023, Jamal released the album WAGWAN together with HoodBlaq, which included the single "Bonita" with British rapper AJ Tracey. Both albums were produced by Shokii, who is also responsible for the characteristic HoodBlaq sound. Jamal is known for his profound lyrics and distinctive voice, which make him an outstanding member of the crew. In September 2025, Jamal and HoodBlaq will release another joint album, Badman.
