Rendez Vous

Parisian band formed in 2012, Rendez-Vous consists of Francis Mallari (vocals, bass), Elliot Berthault (vocals, keyboards), Maxime Gendre (keyboards), Simon Dubourg (guitar) and since 2018 Guillaume Rottier (drums). After several local gigs, the French post-punk revival outfit signed with independent label Zappruder Records to record a homonymous debut EP in 2014. Two years later, the Italian label Avant! Records to release the EP Distance, which received rave reviews in the specialist press. In 2018, the band released their long-awaited debut album, Superior State, and went on to play a number of festivals, from Rock en Seine to Printemps de Bourges, Dour (Belgium) and La Route du Rock in Saint-Malo. For the occasion, Rendez-Vous created its own label, Artefact, and saw its fame spread around the world in a style reminiscent of cold wave. After a long international tour of a hundred concerts in fourteen different countries, Rendez-Vous released the title track "Irina" in 2020 and locked themselves away in the studio to concoct their second album Downcast (2024).
