Magdaléna Hajóssyová, born on July 25, 1946, in Bratislava, Slovakia, is a classical soprano known for her international career. She trained at the Music Academy of Bratislava and made her debut in 1967 as Barče in Bedřich Smetana's The Kiss at the Národní divadlo Brno. In 1972, Hajóssyová became a principal artist at the Prague State Opera, performing roles such as Countess Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro. She also had a notable partnership with the Berlin State Opera from 1975, earning acclaim for her performances as Elettra in Mozart's Idomeneo and Iphigenie in Christoph Willibald Gluck's Iphigénie en Aulide. Hajóssyová received several awards, including the Slovak Culture Prize in 1974, the Rad Bieleho Prize in 2003, the National Prize of the German Democratic Republic, and the J.W. Goethe Award. She is also a distinguished music educator, chairing the vocal music department at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague.
