Third Coast Kings was an American funk and soul band from Ann Arbor, Michigan. Formed in 2007 by drummer James Keovongsak and bassist Nate Ayers, the group initially performed under the name "The Monarchs." Their breakthrough came with the release of the single "Give Me Your Love/Tonic Stride" (2010) on Record Kicks. The band's lineup evolved over the years, with notable members including vocalist Michelle Camilleri and trombonist Terry Kimura. Third Coast Kings gained significant attention for their live performances, notably at the Fuji Rock Festival '12 in Japan. Their discography includes the albums Third Coast Kings (2012) and West Grand Boulevard (2014), which received positive reviews from critics worldwide. Other notable compilation releases include 'Mo' Record Kicks' (2010), SoulShaker vol.7 (2010), and 'Mo' Record Kicks Act II' (2011). The band disbanded shortly before their 10-year anniversary.
