“Music was my first love and it will be my last” - this line alone would describe the life of Janis Nikos to the fullest.
Whoever carries as much music from birth as Janis, who was born in Thessaloniki, knows that his way to the big stages must lead to the heart of the music business.
The young Janis practiced with the hits of the very big ones, such as Elvis Presley, Tom Jones and Roy Orbison, and interpreted them in his own personal way - with a lot of voice and even more southern temperament. He not only convinced his own grandmother, but also quickly a wide audience from his hometown Thessaloniki to the capital Athens. The fact that Janis' s path ultimately also led to Germany is also family-oriented, as his parents ran a Greek restaurant in Mönchengladbach, in which Janis always worked diligently during his vacation time and helped his parents.
With the guitar in one hand and the wooden spoon in the other hand, Janis often stood in the large kitchen and, despite the large number of people, was simply unable to let go of the music.
It soon became apparent that Janis was now able to inspire his first audience on German soil in the “Fantasy” bar.
After his return to Greece, the big breakthrough was only a matter of time. However, as Janis was dutiful, he initially did his military service at home and during this time exercised his patience musically. In the end, however, this was more than rewarded because Janis was given the great honor of being able to work with the best-known Greek composers and musicians. Musical greats like Stavros Kougioumtzis, Giorgos Hatzinasios, Christos Liritzis, Yannis Spanos and Thanasis Gaifilias, who had already won big prizes for music titles in TV series and films, recognized Janis' talent and took the young artist under her wing.
The know-how of these “old hands” paired with Janis talent and temperament led to the unique stage show that still distinguishes Janis today. Vocal always to the point and in terms of show always at the level of an Elvis Presley or Tom Jones, the audience loves his performances.
Of course, the proud parents in Germany regularly played the songs of young Janis to the many guests in their restaurant and so it happened one day that none other than Bernd Clüver noticed Janis. He was immediately impressed by the voice that came out of the loudspeakers and without hesitation asked Janis to come from Greece to Germany to produce his music here and to make him known. This paved the way for a great career.
After Janis moved his center of life to Germany, more precisely to Ismaning, the career really took off. There is no big show in German hit music that Janis has not already included on his long list of TV appearances, and the many chart positions are also unparalleled. But Janis is not a person who rests on his laurels. On the contrary, together with none other than the two vocal coaches Seth Riggs and Prof. Dennis M. Heath, Janis works regularly to develop himself and his music. And these two must know, they have already worked for stars such as Barbara Streisand, Michael Jackson and Diana Ross.
In addition to his own songs, it has always been important for Janis to share his inspirations with other artists. The successful artist has also become a very successful songwriter and producer, who is constantly working on new musical works in his own recording studio in Ismaning. Artists such as Olaf, the Paldauer, Alexander Rier, Patrick Himmel and many others have long trusted Janis Nikos' flair and know that his passion for hits can be felt at any time in any of his titles. Despite a long career, Janis is far from tired and will continue to delight his audience with many ideas in the future. Because music was his first great love and will also be his last.
