SASAMI

Sasami Ashworth, known simply as Sasami, is an American musician born on June 23, 1990, in Bronxville, New York. Coming from a diverse background with a German father and a Korean mother born in Japan, she grew up speaking Korean and Japanese and was influenced early on by her involvement in the Unification Church. She learned to play the French horn in middle school and attended the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, where she was a contemporary of the members of Haim. Sasami graduated from the Eastman School of Music in 2012 and engaged in a variety of musical roles including scoring and orchestrating for films and commercials, as well as teaching music in Los Angeles. She began her musical career with the American rock band Cherry Glazerr, playing synthesizers and touring extensively until she left the band in 2018 to pursue a solo career. Sasami quickly made a name for herself with the release of tracks like "Callous"(2018) which was highly praised by critics. She signed with Domino Recording Company, releasing her debut album Sasami in 2019 and her sophomore album Squeeze in 2022, both to critical acclaim. Sasami's music, which ranges from singer-songwriter ballads to heavy metal and industrial, has made significant impacts within the indie music scene. In 2023, she continued to tour, supporting artists such as Yeule. she released her 3rd album Blood on the Silver Screen in 2025, which includes "IN LOVE WITH A MEMORY".
