Biography

The Christian rock trio Consumed by Fire was formed by brothers Caleb, Jordan, and Joshua Ward in 2010. The three siblings grew up in Wagoner, Oklahoma, where their parents served as pastors at Legacy Family Church. Active in the church choir from a young age, the Ward brothers quickly became adept musicians. Jordan focused on drums, Joshua mastered the guitar, and Caleb became the siblings' most gifted vocalist. Pooling their talents together, the boys formed Consumed by Fire and released their independent debut album, Something Real, during the summer of 2010. They later signed with Inpop Records, a Nashville-based Christian label, and released the EP Lean on Me in 2015. Featuring a mix of pop, folk, and roots-rock influences, Lean on Me earned a Top 40 hit with the lead single "Walk Through the Fire," which reached Number 38 on the Christian Airplay chart. The record's title EP fared even better, hitting Number 24 on Christian Airplay and Number 31 on Hot Christian Songs. Both singles also appeared on Giving Over, the group's first full-length release for Inpop. Released in March 2016, Giving Over featured the band's third hit single, "I Need You God," which reached Number 23 on the Christian Airplay chart. The boys lost their father in 2022 and began recording a new EP, First Things First, to honor his legacy. The record's title track was released later that year, becoming the trio's fourth Top 40 hit on the Christian charts.
