Battle Tapes is an American electronic rock band from Los Angeles, California, that formed in 2010. The ensemble consists of the vocalist and guitarist Josh Boardman, the keyboardist Riley Mackin, the bassist Josh D'Elia, and the drummer Pete Kraynak and are famous for their live performances and for the inclusion of their track “Feel the Same” in the video game Grand Theft Auto V (2013). They achieved early professional recognition with the EPs Sleepwalker (2011) and Sweatshop Boys (2012). Their discography includes the studio recordings Polygon (2015) and Texture (2023), as well as the EPs Solid Gold (2016) and Form (2017). The band’s music has appeared in the web series Gen:Lock, with the track “Belgrade” serving as its main theme. They have performed at festivals including SXSW (2014) and the BottleRock Napa Valley Festival (2015). Boardman and Mackin also perform as a duo under the moniker Skeleton Crüe.
