Zenzile

Since 1995, the Angevins of Zenzile have been blending dub reggae, trip hop and electro in a prolific body of work that includes the albums Sachem in Salem (1999), Sound Patrol (2001) and Totem (2004) and the 5+1 series (three releases). Following the release of Modus Vivendi in 2005, Zenzile teamed up with High Tone for Zentone (2006). The following albums, Pawn Shop (2009) and Electric Soul (2012, open to rap) alternate with two sound illustration exercises for 1920s films Le Cabinet du docteur Caligari (the subject of an EP released in 2011) and Berlin, symphonie d'une grande ville. The latter gave rise to the instrumental album Berlin (2014), with its krautrock and industrial post-punk influences. The band then rediscovered their musical colors with the release of Elements in 2017, marked by the arrival of singer Zakia Gallard.
