Harry Romero, born in 1973 in New Jersey, United States of America, is an American DJ and producer who emerged from the local club scene with a focus on house music. Emerging in the 1990s, he became a central figure in the underground house scene, particularly through his collaborations with fellow house icons José Nuñez and Erick Morillo. He is known for his signature blend of Latin-flavored rhythms, soulful grooves, and driving percussion, which has made his tracks staples in clubs worldwide. Throughout his career, he has released music under multiple aliases, including Harry Romero, HCCR, Choo Choo Project, Mongobonix, Lellenda, El Chulo, Soulfuric, and has participated in collaborative projects such as Constipated Monkeys, The Dronez, Ministers De La Funk, Ambassadors of Pain, Da Shapeshifta Project, and In the Screen. He has produced numerous classic house tracks and remixes, earning acclaim for his ability to combine underground energy with melodic sensibilities. Throughout his career he has worked with artists such as Jessica Eve, Shawnee Taylor, and Robert Owens, and has toured internationally, performing at venues including Pacha in Ibiza and SE1 in London. Harry Romero’s work has appeared on compilations such as Subliminal Sessions and he has remixed high‑profile songs, contributing to his recognition within the electronic music community. Among his notable solo releases are the EPs The Butcher (2013), Tribal Jazz (2015), The Beast (2015), Chromium (2017), Hot Again (2017), and Mind Games (2023).
