Home Made Kazoku is a Japanese hip-hop group formed in 1996, consisting of two MCs, MICRO and KURO, and a DJ. Initially, the duo met at Nanzan University, and despite Japan's limited hip-hop scene at the time, they were influenced by American hip-hop. In 1999, they won the USEN Fresh Musician Contest with the track "Donpisya" and released their first album, HOME MADE KAZOKU. After a name change due to broadcasting restrictions, they signed with Polydor and released major hits, including "Thank you!!" in 2005, which was used as the ending theme for the anime BLEACH and "FREEDOM"(2006) which was the ending theme for the anime NARUTO. They continued to release albums, including ROCK THE WORLD (2005) and musication (2006), while collaborating with other artists, such as Kome Kome CLUB, on mashups and campaign songs. In 2010, they hosted the KAZOKU Fes. and contributed to earthquake relief efforts with charity events. In 2016, the group announced an indefinite hiatus following their final tour and performance at Zepp Namba.
