Jesse Wells (born November 22, 1994 in Ozark, Arkansas), known professionally as Jesse Welles or simply Welles, is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist who has emerged with a handful of acoustic protest songs that blend country, folk, and Americana. After starting out as Jeh Sea Wells, he changed his name to Welles and released the single "Rock N Roll" in April 2018, which was then included on his Dave Cobb-produced album Red Trees and White Trashes that year. He later changed his name again, this time to Jesse Welles, and released the Hells Welles album in 2024, also gaining an audience on social media with folk protest songs such as "The Poor," "Cancer," "The Olympics," and "War Isn't Murder." Middle emerged in 2025 and spawned a hit single in "Horses," which cracked the US Top 40 Radio Adult Alternative Songs.
